IO Entity
The IO Entity panel shows the slots of an IO entity, such as a generator, switch, branch or light. Inputs take power, water or items in. Outputs send them on. Each slot is a small card with an icon for its type, its name, and a link on the right: Connect on a free output, Disconnect on a slot with a wire.
The panel shows when one IO entity is selected. It lists Inputs only if the entity has inputs, and Outputs only if it has outputs.
A wire always starts at an output. Click Connect on an output, then click the entity in the scene view that the wire goes to. RustEdit connects it to that entity's first free input of the same type. The card then shows the wire's rows. See IO wiring for the whole workflow.
Can edit several selected objects at once.

A slot's card
| Part | What it does |
|---|---|
| Icon | The slot's type: a bolt for electric power, a drop for water, a cog for kinetic, a conveyor belt for industrial, a plug for generic. A wire connects slots of the same type only. |
| Connect | Shown on a free output. Click it, then click the entity the wire goes to. Mouse Right stops. |
| Disconnect | Takes the slot's wire out, from either end. |
| Not connected | Shown on a free input. Wires start at outputs: select the entity that sends the power and connect one of its outputs. |
| To / From | The entity at the other end of the wire. Double-click it to select that entity. |
| Slot | The slot at the other end. Pick another free slot of the same type to move the wire there. |
| Wire | The color RustEdit draws the wire in. Outputs only. RustEdit saves it with the wire. |
Hold the mouse over a card to see its wire drawn wider, in the highlight color, in the scene view. Making, moving and removing wires are not undo steps.
